NetEase, Inc. (Simplified Chinese: 网易; Traditional Chinese: 網易; Binyin: Wjung) is a Chinese Internet technology company that provides online services centered on content, community, communicationand commerce. The company was founded in 1997 by Ding Lei. NetEase develops and manages online computers, mobile games, advertising services, email services and e-commerce platforms in China. It is one of the largest internet and video game companies in the world. The company also owns several pig farms. Some NetEase games include the Western Journey series (Journey Of The West, Journey West Online II, Fantasy Journey West II, and New Journey West Online II), as well as other games, such as Tianxia III, Heroes of the Tangi Dynasty Zero and Ghost II. NetEase also partners with Blizzard Entertainment to run local versions of Warcraft III, World of Warcraft, Herthston, Starcraft II, Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, Overwatch in China, Onmyoji RPG, and Onmyoji Arena MOBA. It is also developing its first self-player multiplayer VR game with an open world setting, which is called Nostos.
