Kirkland's, Inc. is an American retail chain that sells home décor, furniture, textiles, accessories and gifts. It operates 434 stores in 37 states as well as an e-commerce enabled website. Based in Brentwood, TN. Kirkland was founded by Carl Kirkland and Robert Kirkland in 1966 in Jackson, Tennessee, when they began selling home accessories at low prices. As of September 2018, the chain has grown to 431 stores in 37 states. In September 2018, Kirkland announced that it had appointed Steve Woodward as the new CEO to succeed interim CEO Mike Kearns. Co-founder Robert Kirkland was also the main financier of the nationally acclaimed Museum and Fun Park, Discovery Park America, located in Union City, Tennessee. each year, Kirkland hosts special events and promotions for Camp Charlie, a camp for seriously ill children in Scottsville, Kentucky. Kirkland's previous philanthropic projects also include participating in ABC's Transformation Program: Home Edition and the American Cancer Society Relay for Life, as well as promoting the Conference on Disarmament entitled Habitat for Humanity.
