Harley Davidson, Inc., H-D, or Harley, is an American motorcycle manufacturer founded in 1903 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Along with the Indian, he was one of two major American motorcycle manufacturers to survive the Great Depression. The company has survived many ownership arrangements, sub-arrangements, periods of economic poor health and product quality, intense global competition to become one of the world's largest motorcycle manufacturers and a well-known brand widely known for its loyal follower. There are owners' clubs and events around the world, as well as a company-sponsored museum focused on the brand. Harley Davidson is noticed for the customization style that led to the helicopter motorcycle style. The company has traditionally marketed heavy-weight and chilled cruisers with engine swings larger than 700 cc, but has expanded its offerings to include the most modern VRSC platforms (2002) and mid-weight street platforms (2015). Harley Davidson manufactures its motorcycles at factories in York, Pennsylvania; Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Kansas City, Missouri (closed in May 2019); Manaus, Brazil; and Pawal, India, began construction of a new plant in Thailand in late 2018. The company fences its products all over the world, licensing and surfacing goods under the Harley-Davidson brand, including clothing, home decoration, jewellery, accessories, toys, motorcycle models and video games based on motorcycle line and community.
