Deutsche Telekom was founded in 1995, where the former state-owned monopoly Deutsche Bondpost was privatized. The company operates several subsidiaries around the world, including mobile telecommunications brand T-Mobile. as of April 2020, the German government owns a 14.5% stake in the company's shares directly, and another 17.4% through the state bank KfW. The company is an element of the EURO STOXX 50 stock market index. The German Federal German Bundespost was the German Postal Administration established in 1947 as the successor to the Reichpost. It was also the main telephone company in West Germany.
