Adobe Company (а-DOH Bee) is an American multinational computer software company. Founded in Delaware and based in San Jose, California, it has historically specialized in software to create and publish a wide range of content, including graphics, photography, animation, multimedia/video, animation and printing. The company has expanded into digital marketing management programs. Adobe has millions of users worldwide. The main products include Photoshop Photo Editing Software, Adobe Illustrated Vector-Based Illustration Software, Adobe Acrobat Reader and Portable Document Format (PDF), as well as a range of tools primarily for creating audiovisual content, editing and publishing. The company began by leading the desktop publishing revolution in the mid-1980s, went on to lead animation and multimedia through its acquisition of Macromedia, from which it acquired Adobe Flash animation technology, advanced inDesign and then gained a leading position in publishing above Quark and PageMaker, developed video editing and installation technology in Premier, and pioneered the development of low-code web with Moses, and emerged with a range of marketing management solutions. Adobe offered a combined solution for its products called Adobe Creative Suite, which evolved into a SaaS subscription that offers Adobe Creative Cloud.Adobe founded in December 1982 by John Warnock and Charles Geschke, who founded the company after leaving Zerox Park to develop and sell the postScript description language. In 1985, Apple Computer licensed PostScript for use in LaserWriter printers, which helped ignite the desktop publishing revolution. As of 2019, Adobe has more than 21,000 employees worldwide, about 40% of whom work in San Jose. Adobe also has major development operations in the United States in Newton, New York City, Minneapolis, Leahy, Seattle, Austin and San Francisco. It also has major development processes in Noida and Bangalore, India.
