Trade Suncorp Group

Suncorp Group Limited is an Australian financial, insurance and banking company based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. It is one of Australia's medium-sized banks (through lending and joint deposits) and the largest public insurance group, formed on 1 December 1996 through the merger of Suncorp, Minway Bank and Queensland Industrial Development Corporation. Queensland Established the State Accident Insurance Office in 1919, to provide compulsory injury compensation insurance to business workers in the state. In 1971, SGIO took another step towards the full status of companies and the formation of its own board of directors. On a more commercial trend, the company closed its community building operations. The next step towards SGIO's move towards the private sector came in 1985. Under new legislation, the company dropped SGIO's name in favour of Suncorp and its employees lost their status as civil servants. At the same time, Suncorp has become an independent company, although it is still controlled by the Government.
