Dentsply Sirona is an American manufacturer of dental equipment and a manufacturer of dental consumption that markets its products in more than 120 countries. It has factories in 21 countries. The current company is largely the result of a merger in 1993 in which Jindex acquired Dent College International for $590 million. As an equipment manufacturer, it designs and manufactures laboratory and specialized products related to dental supplies. With regard to consumer products, they specialize in anesthesia and prevention of plaque, gum disease (prevention) and dental polishes. It also designs and builds artificial teeth. It has also been mentioned as a major player in the future oral flatpanel sensor market. Because of income inequality between rich and developing countries, the diversity of products requested varies from region to region (and therefore from dependency to subsidiaries because many of them are regional). On January 17, 2018, Dent College Cerona announced the appointment of Donald M. Casey Jr., former Chief Executive Officer of Cardinal Health Medical, as CEO and board member.
