East West Bank (traditional Chinese: 華美銀; simplified Chinese: 华美银; Binyin: Huami Yinhang), the main subsidiary of East West Bancorp, is the largest independent bank based in Southern California, United States. It was founded in 1973 in Los Angeles to serve the Chinese-American community in Southern California. It is a major bank focused exclusively on the major U.S. and Chinese markets and operates in more than 120 locations worldwide, including california, Georgia, Massachusetts, Nevafora, New York, Texas and Washington. In greater China, the presence of the East Bank includes full service branches in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Shanxiand and Shenzhen, and representative offices in Beijing, Chongqing, Guangzhou and Xiamen. Forbes magazine has ranked the West Bank in the top 15 banks in America since 2010.
