Trade Cadence Design Systems
Cadence Design Systems, Inc., based in San Jose, California, is an American multinational software company, founded in 1988 by the merger of SDA and ECAD systems, inc. produces software, hardware, silicon structures for integrated circuit design, systems on chips (SoCs) and printed circuit boards. Cadence Design Systems started as an electronic design automation company (EDA), formed by the 1988 Solomon Design Automation Merger (SDA), co-founded in 1983 by Richard Newton, Alberto Sangiovanni Vincentelli and James Solomon, and AED, a public company co-founded by Glen Antel and Paul Huang in 1982. SDA CEO Joseph Costello has been appointed CEO of the newly merged company. After the resignation of cadence's original CEO Joe Costello in 1997, Jack Harding was appointed CEO. Ray Bingham was appointed CEO in 1999. In 2004, Mike Wester became the new CEO of Cadence. In 2008, cadence appointed Lipa Bo Tan as acting CEO, following the resignation of Mike Wester; In January 2009, the Cadence Board of Directors voted unanimously to install Lip Po Tan as president and CEO. Tan recently served as CEO of Walden International, a venture capital firm, where he remains president. In 2017, Cadence appointed Anrod Devgan as President, reporting to Lip Po Tan.
