Activision Blizzard, Inc. is an American video game holding company based in Santa Monica, California. The company was founded in July 2008 through the merger of Activision, Inc. (the parent company of public trading of Activision Publishing) and Vivendi Games. The company is traded on nasdaq under the symbol ATVI Index, and since 2015 has been one of the stocks that make up the S&P 500 index. Activision Blizzard currently includes five business units: Activision Publishing, Blizzard Entertainment, King, Major League Games, and Activision Blizzard Studios.The company owns and operates additional studios under the model of independent studios under the publishing model, including Triarch, Infinity Ward, High Moon Studios, and Pop Games. Among the main intellectual features produced by Activision-Blizzard are Call of Duty, Crash Bandicoot, Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk, Spiro/Skylanders, World of Warcraft, StarCraft, Diablo, Herxton, Storm Heroes, Overwatch, and Candy Crush Saga.
