Trade S&P 100 ETF

Theindex options are traded on the S&P 100 with the "OEX" index code. Because of the popularity of these options, investors often refer to the index through the index code. S&P 1000, a subset of the S&P 500, includes 101 (because one of its constituent companies has 2 categories of shares) leading U.S. stocks with listed options. The components of the S&P 100 are selected for sectoral balance and represent about 67% of the market value of the S&P 500 and approximately 54% of the market value of the Us stock markets as of December 2020. Shares in the S&P 100 tend to be the largest and most established s&p 500. index started on June 15 1983.In 1983, CBOE created the first index options, based on its own index, CBOE 100. in 1993, CBOE established the Chicago Options Exchange Market Volatility Index (VIX), which was calculated on the basis of the S&P 100 options price (at that time these were by far the most traded index options). Then in 2003, they changed it to be based on the S&P 500.
